This week’s memory verse from Called and Created’s Bible Reading and Memorization Plan is Psalm 145:3. This verse says that God is great, and most worthy of praise – that none can fathom His greatness!
Our God is most certainly great, and worthy of praise! He is the One who created the earth – who called forth light in the darkness, who spoke the earth into being, who set life in motion, and made everything we see. All throughout the Bible He did great and mighty things, and still does them in our lives today, if we will ask Him. He has always existed, and always will, yet He knows each of us personally, and wants us to get to know Him.
He does so much for us. He gave His Son so that we could have eternal life, and a relationship with Him. He love us, regardless of the mistakes we have made. He accepts us as His children. He gives each of us many blessings, some of which we don’t even recognize, and often forget to thank Him for.
Take some time to praise God today for who He is, and what He has done for you. Give thanks to Him!
Week 25 of Called and Created’s Bible Reading and Memorization Plan is drawing to a close. This week’s reading was
1 Corinthians 2-6. These chapters continue one of Paul’s epistles to the church at Corinth.
1 Corinthians 3:18-19 states that if we think we are wise by the standards of this age, we should become “fools,” in order to actually become wise. It goes on to state that the world’s wisdom is foolishness in God’s sight.
The world has many mindsets and ways of doing things that are considered wise by a majority of people, that really end in disaster and heartache. Many follow the wisdom of the world, only to end up at a destination that is not what they had in mind. They discover that the world’s wisdom truly is foolishness.
The only true wisdom is the wisdom of God, which He gives liberally and without reproach to all who ask (James 1:5). When we do things His way, we may appear foolish to others, but in reality, we are saving ourselves from the problems that arise when we follow the world’s foolishness as if it were wisdom.
Let’s resolve to seek after true wisdom – the wisdom of God, which He is more than willing to give us – rather than following the wisdom (or rather foolishness) of the world. Let’s do things His way!
Week 23 of Called and Created’s Bible Reading and Memorization Plan is almost over. This week’s reading was Romans 8-12. These chapters further continue Paul’s epistle to the church at Rome.
Romans 12:2 bids us not to be conformed to this world’s pattern, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Then we will be able to test and approve what is God’s will.
We live in the world. We are constantly surrounded by its mindsets and mentalities. We encounter many examples of people doing things the world’s way each and every day. However, we do not belong to the world. We have been chosen out it (John 15:19). We are part of God’s kingdom, and we are to do things His way, rather than the way of the world. We are to be transformed by allowing our minds to be renewed to what He says.
The more we read God’s Word and spend time with Him, the more our minds will become renewed. We will find out who He is, and who we are in Him. We will discover His way of doing things. As our minds are being renewed, we will be transformed into His image more and more. We will become more like Him, and less like the world around us. Let’s be conformed no longer to this world’s pattern, but allow ourselves to be transformed by the renewing of our minds!
