Week 34 of Called and Created’s Bible Reading and Memorization Plan is drawing to a close. This week’s reading was Colossians 2-4, and 1 Thessalonians 1-2. These chapters finish Paul’s letter to the church at Colossae, and begin his letter to the church at Thessalonica.
Colossians 2:10 says that in Christ, we have been made complete. So many of us are searching for someone or something to fulfill us – to make us feel complete and whole. We look in all the wrong places. We come up empty, time and again.
Your search for completeness can come to an end, for you are already complete in Christ! In this world, you are as He is (1 John 4:17). As He is loved, cherished, valued, and treasured by the Father, so are you!
The One in whom true fulfillment is found lives inside of you. Stop trying to find something that can make you feel complete, and let this truth sink into your mind – that in Christ, you have been made complete!
In John 6:35, Jesus calls Himself the Bread of Life. He declares that those who come to Him will never hunger, and those who believe in Him will not thirst.
In this world, many hunger and thirst for something that can satisfy. They try to fill the void that they feel inside with that which can never give true satisfaction. Time and time again, they come up empty, always longing for something more. The only One who can truly fulfill is Jesus. He promises that those who come to Him, He will never cast out (John 6:37). Never it all of the gospels did anyone approach Him in vain. He knew each of them individually, and in love, met them where they were at, and provided for their needs. He who did this is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Come to Him, and receive the Bread of Life, which alone can truly satisfy.
Jesus is the Bread of LIFE! True life is found in Him. John 10:10 says that He came that we might have life more abundant. John 3:16 says that all who believe in Him have eternal life (John 3:16). He wants us to experience the life He came to give us in our every area of need.
Those who come to the Savior will never hunger or thirst. He gives life to all who believe in Him. Receive the Bread of Life, knowing that in Him, you are complete (Colossians 2:10)!
