What would have happened if God had no longer considered Abraham his friend after he lied about his wife twice to heathen kings to save himself?
What would have happened if God had abandoned Jacob after tricked his father into giving him Esau’s blessing?
What would have happened if God had refused to appoint Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt because he took the law into his own hands and killed an Egyptian, and then fled, spending the next 40 years in the desert?
What would have happened if God had refused to keep his promises to David after he committed adultery with Bathsheba, and was responsible for her husband’s death?
What would have happened if God had discounted Paul because of his past of persecuting believers?
What would have happened if Jesus had refused to come and give His life to save you because He knew that you would keep on making mistakes throughout your life?
Abraham would have never become the father of the nation of Israel.
Jacob, later called Israel, would never have been the one from whom the 12 tribes of Israel descended.
Moses would never have been able to lead the people out of slavery.
David’s family line would not have continued as the royal family line, from which Jesus would one day descend.
Paul would never have written over half of the books in the New Testament, or taken the gospel to the Gentiles.
You would have been utterly and eternally lost, and without hope and without God.
God doesn’t discount us because of our past, or the mistakes we have made.
Stop discounting yourself, and stop discounting others!
