Children Of The Light

Children Of The LightWeek 35 of Called and Created’s Bible Reading and Memorization Plan is almost over. This week’s Bible reading was 1 Thessalonians 3-5, and 2 Thessalonians 1-2. These chapters are part of Paul’s letters to Thessalonica.

1 Thessalonians 5:5 says that we are not of the night or of the darkness. It says that we are children of the light, and of the day.

We are children of God, who is our light (Psalm 27:1). We are not a part of the darkness around us. We shine in the midst of it! We are the light of the world, pointing others to Christ!

As children of God, we don’t have to grope our way through the darkness, wondering where the light is. We have the true Light of the World (John 8:12) living inside of us. We have been rescued from the dominion of darkness, and brought into His kingdom (Colossians 1:13)! The light of God’s love and favor is upon us, chasing away the darkness around us.

You are a child of the light, and of the day. Arise and shine forth the light of God!

Far Above All We Could Ask Or Think

Far Above All We Could Ask Or ThinkThis week’s memory verse from Called and Created’s Bible Reading and Memorization Plan is Ephesians 3:20-21. These verses state that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, far above all we could ask or think, and that to Him be the glory.

Our Heavenly Father is able to do far above all we could think, and all we could ever ask of Him. All things are possible with Him (Matthew 19:26). Nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:17).

Do we truly believe this? Do we dare to ask God for whatever it is that we need? Or do we put limits on what we feel that He is capable of? Do we ask Him for even the little things in life, let alone the big things?

No matter what it is that you are facing, no matter what miracle you may be in need of, know that it’s nothing God can’t handle. He desires to work in your life in incredible ways, if you’ll ask Him. The question is will you?
