This week’s memory passage from Called and Created’s Bible Reading and Memorization Plan is Ephesians 2:8-9. These verses state that it is by grace, through faith, that we are saved, and this not of ourselves, for it is the gift of God.
It is by God’s grace that we have been saved. Because of His great love for us, we have been made alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:4-5). We were once sinners – without hope and without God in this world (Ephesians 2:12). However, God loved us so much that He sent His only Son, that we, by believing in Him, might have eternal life (John 3:16). Christ came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10), and John 1:12 promises that ALL who receive Him, and believe in His name, are given the right to become children of God!
We have been saved by grace, through faith. We can’t earn salvation. We can’t do anything to merit it. It is a gift of God’s amazing grace, to be received freely. It is by faith that we have been made righteous (Romans 3:22). This righteousness is not based on anything that we have done, but on what Christ has done for us. Through faith, we reach out and take the salvation that God holds out to us.
It is by grace, through faith, that we have been saved. We have a wonderful Heavenly Father, who offers salvation to us freely. This salvation is received not through our actions, but through faith in His Son. Let’s give thanks to God for His unequaled love and grace!
