A Heart of Gratitude – Day Ten

a heart of gratitude - day ten“Be anxious for nothing, but
in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made
known to God.”
Philippians 4:6, NASB

Are you anxious about anything? Do worries cloud your mind? Are you facing troubling circumstances? Instead of trying to figure things out on your own, come to God, and receive from Him all that you need. Rather than continuing on full of anxiety, make your needs known to your Heavenly Father, who cares for you deeply. There’s not a detail of your life that fails to interest Him. He knows all your ways (Psalm 139:3). He perceives each word you will say before it ever leaves your lips (Psalm 139:4). He numbers even the hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30)! If He tends to the birds of the air
(Matthew 6:26) and the flowers of the field (Matthew 6:28-30), will He not also take care of you, His dearly loved child?

What do we gain by worrying? Can we add even one hour to our life by doing so
(Matthew 6:27)? Does it not make much more sense to approach God’s throne of grace, and receive help from our Him in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16)? God, who created all that we see, who spoke all life into being, and who formed you and I, is more than able to tend to any concern we may have. Our answers found are in Him. There is nothing He can’t do. What’s impossible to us, as humans, is completely possible to our mighty God (Luke 18:27)! He has performed many wonders in the past, and will continue to supply our every need (Philippians 4:19).

Instead of remaining trapped in feelings of anxiety, cast your cares upon God, with the confidence that He will sustain you (Psalm 55:22). Present your requests to Him, giving thanks for His promised provision in your current situation. Remember the ways in which He has met your needs in the past, and be encouraged to place your trust in Him as you go forward. Express your gratitude to God for His loving care – past, present, and future.

True friends are always there for us, offering help when we need it. Our Heavenly Father is the best friend we could ever have! Listen to this song, and be encouraged to carry everything, including situations over which you feel anxious, to God in prayer!
